Kent Fortin, FT Rep Council, 2 year Term, 2023-2025
I am eager to go to work for Sierra College faculty as SCFA Full-time Representative.   I have experience as a high school faculty union representative in a previous position, and I have a strong interest in leveraging that experience.  I understand the need for hard work and commitment in this undertaking and am willing to do my best to serve faculty in this critical role.

I have served on various shared governance committees, and I have advocated enthusiastically for faculty in Academic Senate for nine years.  I see an opportunity for continued advocacy as SCFA Full-time Representative .

Kara Perry, FT Rep Council, 2 year Term, 2023-2025
As a current member of the SCFA board, and the SCFA negotiation team, I understand, and am committed to the collaborative process at Sierra College.  I also firmly believe in the value of union work with regard to working conditions, wages, benefits, and overall work satisfaction.  My efforts as TRIO Coordinator, Counselor, Personal Development instructor, and SCFA Representative, speak to my commitment to Sierra, our faculty, and students.  My goal is to be an active and engaged SCFA representative.  I ask for your vote.

Judith Kreft, Vice President, 1 year term, 2023-2024
As Vice President, Executive Board member, & Part-Time Faculty representative, I have labored tirelessly to improve pay and working conditions.  As Dispute Resolution officer, I have saved jobs and fought for protections.  I have advocated for years to support the rights & needs of all faculty.

Examples:
Academic Freedom
Increased FT / PT pay for committee & online work
Increased Lab pay/load rate
Health Insurance (increased district contribution (FT) & coverage (PT)
PT Longevity & Parity, Office Hour Pay, Seniority Rights
CEC/FERC pay
Employee Assistance Program availability for all
One Time Money
Bereavement Leave

As SCFA Delegate to CTA/CCA/NEA, I represent at local, state & national levels for faculty issues & funding. EDUCATORS are the backbone of education.  We deserve respect, support, & advocacy for working conditions & pay. I am committed to the hard work, collaboration, & listening that are essential for representing you. I aim to champion you.

Doug White, PT Rep Council, 2 year Term, 2023-2025
I’m interested in getting involved with our Union and participating in Union leadership in support of SCFA. While I’m relatively new to Sierra College, I’ve found that getting involved in our governance is both rewarding and educational. For example, I’ve learned more about Sierra College in the two semesters that I’ve been on Academic Senate than I had in the previous two years. I’m a dedicated worker, and I’m not afraid to get involved and contributing to our shared causes in any way I can. Being a former executive leader from the Aerospace & Defense industry, I have a good sense of how management thinks, and that could be a useful background for our association. I’m 100% committed to supporting our faculty.

Donald Barbee, PT Rep Council, 2 year Term, 2023-2025
My name is Wayne Barbee and I am running for the position of Part Time Representative on the SCFA Executive Board.  Currently, I am an SCFA Representative and a member of the SCFA Negotiating Team. My experience on these committees has enabled me to develop a strong working relationship with the district. That relationship has helped the negotiating team to negotiate a 5.37% raises for Part Time Faculty only, develop a Part Time seniority rehire rights protocol, as well as establish load patterns for Part Time Faculty. I will continue to work to improve Part Time working conditions and compensation at Sierra College. To accomplish these goals, I need your support. Your vote in this election will be greatly appreciated.
