As your Part-Time representative I advocate for:
  • increased lecture and lab rates
  • office hour pay rate = lecture rate
  • salary schedule parity: revise the salary advancement calculation from units to semesters
  • for each of 6 units taught in an academic year PT faculty would earn a 1% increase in salary. This would be parity with the annual 5% raise afforded to FT faculty teaching 30 units annually.
  • office hour location: on-ground instructors can choose to hold office hours either online or on-ground
  • longevity pay for part-time faculty—same as FT faculty and classified receive
  • due process
  • scheduling make-up office hour(s)
  • academic freedom
  • seniority for summer session
  • evaluations: streamline the process and focus on professional development

As the SCFA Communications Officer, I am responsible for:
Running the SCFA web site where you can find current, relevant news and issues that affect Part-Time faculty.
